　　Description

　　The Clark (Mile-End) Bursary Fund is a charitable endowment which was established in 1868 by a Victorian philanthropist by the name of John Clark. He was a thread manufacturer and prominent citizen from Paisley. The fund is now governed by Rules laid down in a 1974 Scheme (as varied with the consent of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator in 2013).

　　Eligibility

　　Applicants must be resident in the United Kingdom for tax purposes.

　　Applicants can either be (a) graduates of the University of Glasgow or Strathclyde studying for, or applying to study for, a subsequent degree at a university in the UK or abroad; or (b) graduates of any university in the UK or abroad studying for, or applying to study for, a subsequent degree at the University of Glasgow or Strathclyde.

　　How to apply

　　There is an annual application process. Applications can be submitted between 1st March and 1st October each year. Applications must be submitted online .

　　Interviews of candidates selected for consideration are held in Glasgow at a Governors’ meeting during November. Interviewees will usually be notified within a week of the interviews whether they will receive an award. Awards are normally paid to successful applicants before the end of the year.

　　The Graham Trust was established by Charter from the City of Glasgow in 1759 with the original aim of “….distribution to persons of the name of Graham or descendants of persons of that name such sums as they shall just requisite and to put poor boys of the name or descendants of such persons of the name, to schools and trades, in order to enable them to gain a livelihood and to be useful members of society.” The Trust is administered by Foundation Scotland.

　　Carnegie Caledonian PhD Scholarship

　　Description

　　Nominations are sought from prospective PhD supervisors only for the Carnegie/Caledonian PhD Scholarships 2017-18. The Carnegie Trust is funding 15 PhD scholarships across all universities within Scotland. The University of Glasgow has been allocated 7 nominations (out of 60 allowed in total across all Scottish HEIs).

　　Eligibility

　　§ A strong 1st Class Honours undergraduate degree from a Scottish university is a pre-requisite for consideration for the scholarship. Applicants should be at least achieving A1-A3 grades in their Honours years (University of Glasgow 22 point scale 20-22).Those with borderline 1st class degree results/dissertations or not holding a first class degree are not eligible to apply.

　　§ Final year students of a Scottish university who expect to achieve a strong 1st Class Honours degree are eligible for nomination but will be withdrawn from the competition is they do not achieve a strong First. Nominees must also have a strong 1st class result in their Honours dissertation and demostrate consistency and/or increasing levels of achievements throughout their studies.

　　§ Non-UK/EU domiciled students with a First-Class Honours undergraduate degree from a Scottish university are eligible to be nominated for a Scholarship, but the Trust will only cover the costs of equivalent home fees. The University is expected to waive the outstanding balance for overseas tuition fees. The prospective supervisor of an international student should verify with the relevant Graduate School that they are willing to waive additional fees.

　　These scholarships provide:

　　§ a stipend payable for 36 months (currently ￡15,900 for 2016-2017)

　　§ fees at home rate (the difference in fee rate for international students will be covered by the University)

　　§ up to ￡1000 towards certain research costs and access to Research Incentive Grant

　　Nomination forms can be download. The completed nomination form should be combined with undergraduate/postgraduate transcripts in a single PDF document using the file name “Carnegie – First name Surname”. Please only submit relevant pages from transcripts which detail courses taken and results.

　　Applicants should also complete the relevant GPA Calculator form based on their results received to date and save this using the file name GPA Calculator - First name Surname. All documentation should be submitted to [emailprotected]

　　(3)在蘇格蘭大學獲得一級榮譽本科學位的國際生也符合獎學金的提名資格，但是 Carnegie 信托只為國際生提供相當于英國學生學費的獎學金。海外學費如果明顯高出英國學生學費，差額預計由格拉斯哥大學來填補。即將入學博士的國際生的指導老師需要和相關研究生院確認，看他們是否愿意免除額外的費用。

　　獎學金金額

　　Carnegie Caledonian 博士獎學金提供以下：

　　Description

　　The Lord Kelvin Adam Smith (LKAS) PhD Scholarships are the University of Glasgow’s flagship interdisciplinary scholarships. To date 100 fully funded interdisciplinary PhD projects have been created.

　　The LKAS PhD Scholarships offer the opportunity for outstanding research students to participate in some of the most exciting areas of interdisciplinary research carried out at the University. During October each year researchers from across the University submit project proposals, from which 6 from each of the 4 Colleges (24 in total) are selected to be advertised to potential doctoral students. Of these, 10 scholarships are generally awarded, based on the excellence of both the project and the selected candidate

　　Value：Each scholarship will run for up to 4 years and will provide the successful students with an annual stipend of in the region of ￡14,510 in 2017/18, as well as access to an annual research consumables budget of ￡3000.

　　The University offers a 10% discount on all Postgraduate Research and full Postgraduate Taught Masters programmes to its alumni. This includes University of Glasgow graduates and those who have completed a Study Abroad programme or the Eramsus Programme at the University of Glasgow. The discount applies to all full-time, part-time and online programmes.

　　§ Completed a Junior Year Abroad, Exchange programme or International Summer School at the University of Glasgow

　　§ Be enrolled on a full Postgraduate Taught Masters of PhD programme at the University of Glasgow full time or part-time (Professional development programmes such as CPD, PGDE, PGD, PGC and Diploma in Legal Practice are not eligible)
